Terms of use

These terms are an agreement between you and Wallzy (wallzy.art, "we") for using the site. By using it, or by creating an account, you agree to them. Questions: admin@wallzy.art.

Using Wallzy

  • You can design cards without an account. Downloading, saving and publishing need a free account.
  • Accounts are for people aged 13 or over (16 or over in the EU and the UK, unless a parent agrees). Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what is done with your account.
  • Use the site lawfully. Do not try to break it, get around plan limits or the Free mark, overload it, scrape it, or reach other people's accounts or data.

Plans and billing

  • Free costs nothing. Pro and Studio are subscriptions, paid monthly or yearly in advance through Stripe, at the price shown when you subscribe, plus any tax shown.
  • A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Cancel any time from your account page; your plan stays until the end of the period you paid for, then becomes Free. Nothing in your library is deleted.
  • Switching to a higher plan charges the difference straight away. Switching to a lower plan credits the rest of the period to your next bill.
  • If a renewal payment fails, Stripe tries again for a while; if it still fails, the subscription ends and the account returns to Free.
  • If we change a price, we tell you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first.
  • Refunds are described in our refund policy.

Your cards and pictures

  • What you make is yours. You keep the rights to your cards, your pictures and your words.
  • Only upload pictures, fonts and text you made or have the right to use. You are responsible for what you put on a card.
  • You let us store, copy and show your content as needed to run the service for you: keeping your library, drawing your exports, and showing what you choose to publish. When you publish to the gallery or share a link, you also let others view it, and in the gallery, remix it into their own cards with credit to you. Unpublishing stops new views.
  • We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law, or that is reported and found to infringe someone's rights.

Templates, designs and the commercial licence

  • Our templates, frames, backs, ornaments and the editor itself are ours (some ornaments are by game-icons.net artists under CC BY 3.0, credited in the editor; fonts are under the SIL Open Font License).
  • Free and Pro: you may use cards made with our templates for personal, non-commercial purposes: your own games, gifts, classes, clubs and playtests, including printing them for yourself.
  • Studio adds a commercial licence: while your Studio plan is active you may sell, publish and print for sale the cards you make with Wallzy, including the template's design as part of your finished card. Cards you made while on Studio stay licensed after you leave it.
  • No plan lets you sell or give away our templates, frames or designs on their own, as templates or design assets, outside the Wallzy marketplace.
  • Card games and characters you base cards on may belong to others. Our licence covers our design, not anyone else's rights.

The gallery and the marketplace

  • Be decent: nothing illegal, hateful, sexual involving minors, or that harasses someone. Five reports hide a card until we look at it.
  • The marketplace lets Studio members sell designs (layouts, not other people's art). Every listing is checked by us before it goes on sale. Buyers pay through Stripe; we keep a fee shown when you list (currently 15%) and Stripe pays the rest to the seller. Sellers must own what they sell and are responsible for it; buyers get the design in their own templates for use under their plan's licence.
  • Marketplace refunds follow our refund policy.

AI helpers and free pictures

Write it for me and Generate use a third-party service when your browser has no built-in model. What they make may not be unique and may resemble other work; check it before you sell it. Pictures from the free picture search come with their own licence, shown with each picture and kept on the card; follow it.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Wallzy running and your data safe, but the site is provided as it is and may sometimes be down for maintenance or because of faults. Keep your own downloads of cards that matter to you. We may change or retire features; if we end a paid feature during a period you paid for, we will refund the unused part.

Ending

You can stop using Wallzy and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, after a warning where that is reasonable; if we close a paid account for reasons other than a breach, we refund the unused part of the period.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded, including the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law and similar laws where you live. Apart from those, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or lost profits, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We update the date below, and tell account holders before a change that matters applies. If you do not agree with a change, you can cancel and stop using the site.

The law

These terms are governed by the laws in force in Australia. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the laws of the country where you live and can bring a claim there.
